LOS ANGELES, Calif. - When a pair of two-time defending champions in their respective leagues met at Dodger Stadium, even the Los Angeles Galaxy were a bit surprised to come out on top of mighty Juventus. Landon Donovan scored the tiebreaking goal on a pass from Robbie Keane in the 60th minute, and the Galaxy beat Juventus 3-1 Saturday night in the International Champions Cup tournament. Nobody from the Galaxy ascribed much importance to the result, but the Galaxys fans got extra enjoyment from their clubs first appearance at Dodger Stadium, the venerable 51-year-old Southern California landmark. "Our team played well, (but) the result isnt going to change anything in this world," Los Angeles coach Bruce Arena said. "We played well against a very good team, but we understand its an exhibition. I dont want to play them when it really counts." Omar Gonzalez scored in the first half, and Keane added a goal in the 88th minute on a terrible turnover by Andrea Pirlo as the back-to-back Major League Soccer champion Galaxy beat the two-time defending Serie A champions in the second soccer match ever played at Dodger Stadium. Real Madrid beat Everton 2-1 in the doubleheaders first game to advance to the tournament final. "Especially for our players from Southern California, it was great to see the excitement in the stands while we were here," Arena said. "Its a really good experience for our local players and our young players." Although the rest of the tournament schedule hasnt been announced, Los Angeles is expected to play in the third-place game in Miami on Wednesday night, likely against the loser of Chelseas match with AC Milan on Sunday outside New York. With Donovan, Keane and Robbie Rogers working in concert, the Galaxy performed splendidly for their hometown fans against Juventus, repeatedly controlling play and possession against their powerful opponents. Alessandro Matri scored in the 39th minute for Juventus, which lost to Everton and the Galaxy in consecutive games in California this week. Coach Antonio Conte thinks the second straight loss to a theoretically inferior opponent will put his talented club on notice before the Serie A season begins in three weeks. "Its good that this very bad loss happened during the preseason, when it doesnt matter," Conte said through a translator. "We have to go back and get organized for the season. We understand were not doing things properly, and we need to go back to the hard work that got us two championships in Italy." Both teams had good chances early on, with Rogers constantly causing trouble for Juventus from the wing. Los Angeles took the lead when Gonzalez left his defensive position and charged into the box, taking a pass from Juninho and chipping a goal over Gianluigi Buffon. Three minutes later, Matri capitalized on a scramble in the Galaxy box, banging a hard shot off Brian Rowe for a goal. Keane and Pirlo, the Italian national team star, entered the game at halftime. Keane hadnt played since injuring his hip in a match against Portland three weeks ago, but the Irish national team captain immediately got back to top form, putting the Galaxy back ahead with a pass across the box to Donovan for a tap-in goal. Juventus pressed in the second half, but Pirlo doomed his club with a tentative back-pass that was pounced upon by Keane, who flicked it past Buffon for the clinching score. Its been a rough trip for the 34-year-old Pirlo, who also missed a penalty kick at the end of Juventus loss to Everton in San Francisco. "We need everybody to wake up, and I put myself as the first one," Conte said. "We have great players, a great roster, but in these last two years, weve always gone beyond our limits with hard work and determination. We need to go back to that. They were in better shape and faster than us." Cheap Air Jordan 11 Retro Orange . Tevez, who has had conflicts with coaches in the past, has not been called up since Sabella was named coach in 2011. After dropping their final six games of December, the Wild opened the new calendar year with four consecutive wins. Following a loss to Colorado on Saturday, Minnesota rebounded the following night to blank Nashville 4-0, but then had the tables turned on them Tuesday. OAKLAND, Calif. -- Derek Carr came back from an injured pinkie to lead another fourth-quarter comeback and the Oakland Raiders won their fifth straight game, beating the Carolina Panthers 35-32 on Sunday.Carr threw for 315 yards and two touchdowns despite missing a series after the injury, leading the Raiders (9-2) back from an eight-point deficit in the fourth quarter to clinch their first winning season since 2002.After leading a game-tying drive earlier in the fourth quarter, Carr hit Michael Crabtree on a 49-yard pass on third-and-9 from the 14 to help set up Sebastian Janikowskis 23-yard field goal with 1:45 left that gave Oakland the lead.Cam Newton led the Panthers (4-7) into Oakland territory on the final drive but Greg Olsen dropped a pass on third down that would have put Carolina in field goal range and Khalil Mack stripped Newton on a fourth-down sack to seal the win.The Panthers scored the first 25 points in the second half after Carr left the game when he hurt his right pinkie while fumbling a snap on the second play from scrimmage in the third quarter.Jonathan Stewart scored on short runs following Carrs fumble and his interception to Thomas Davis when he returned. Newton hit two long touchdown passes, connecting on an 88-yarder to Ted Ginn Jr. and a 44-yarder to Kelvin Benjamin that made it 32-24 early in the fourth quarter. But Carr did what he has done best by leading his team back despite needing a glove on his injured right hand and taking snaps solely out of the shotgun.Carr led a 75-yard drive capped by a 12-yard pass to Clive Walford for his NFL-best 12th tying or go-ahead touchdown pass in the fourth quarter. A 2-point conversion to Seth Roberts tied the game.GOING FOR 2: After Denico Autry blocked the extra point followiing Carolinas first TD in the third quarter, coach Ron Rivera went for 2 unsuccessfully after the next two touchdowns.dddddddddddd Those missed points kept Oakland down only eight after Benjamins touchdown and the Raiders managed to tie it when they got the 2-point conversion after Walfords score.MACKS MOMENT: Mack made a big play late in the first half when he fought off a block and leaped to intercept a short pass from Newton. He ran it in 6 yards for his first career touchdown , celebrating with a leap into the Black Hole. He ended the game by extending his sack streak to a career-best six games.CAM THE LOBBYIST: After complaining earlier in the year about a lack of roughing the passer calls going his way, Newton was the beneficiary of a questionable one against Stacy McGee late in the first quarter. That helped jump-start Carolinas offense as Jonathan Stewart ran 47 yards on the next play and Newton finished the drive with a 3-yard run , handing the ball to a young fan wearing a Panthers jersey .SHORT-HANDED: Both teams were without key some key defensive players with Carolina LB Luke Kuechly missing the game with a concussion and pass rusher Mario Addison sitting with a foot injury. Oakland was without CB David Amerson (knee) and LB Perry Riley Jr. (hamstring). Panthers C Ryan Kalil (shoulder) also missed the game. Carolina then lost backup center Gino Gradkowski to a knee injury during the game and Oakland cornerback DJ Hayden left with a hamstring injury.---For more NFL coverage: http://www.pro32.ap.org and http://www.twitter.com/AP-NFLThis story has been corrected to reflect that the Panthers are 4-7 not 5-6.
